Purity Under Attack!
By Rob Hood (07/14/05)
I often wonder how many people today are truly committed to purity, honor, truth, and common decency today. I know that we live in a time where TV is horribly skewed with false information, explicit sexual content and references, extreme violence, and profane language. We live in a time when we are constantly battling with something, whether it be personal money struggles, relationship problems, work problems, the fear of domestic abuse, the fear of international terrorism, or other stressful things.
Biblical truth has never seen attack like it is being attacked now. Hollywood and radical left wingers are unmerciful in attacks on Christianity. Christians are often attacked verbally and called names like "bigots" and "religious nuts" because we stand for something pure and truthful and refuse to back down from those beliefs.
Well today, the very act of purity and decency itself has been attacked. If you have read the headlines that do not come across the mainstream, you will see that NARAL, a radical left wing abortion activist group, is throwing a party called "Screw Abstinence" which is in opposition to President Bush's Abstinence Education Program designed to teach children and youth the importance of waiting until marriage before sexual activity.
Anyone who grew up as a Southern Baptist will tell you that even this lesson is in the Sunday School books and is greatly referred to in the Bible. Sex is often misunderstood by Christians and certainly by Hollywood and the left wing liberals of America. Sex was designed for us to enjoy after marriage as a symbol of love, devotion, desire, loyalty, and submission to and for each partner. It was never intended for homosexuality. It was never even intended for "casual relationships". It was meant for married couples to share a special intimacy together for life!
After Satan entered the Garden of Eden, that all changed. People tell me that its ok to have sex before marriage and that abstinence is old fashioned, but I beg your pardon. The Bible says more about sexual impurity as a common sin than any other sin. NARAL is defiant in its abuse of the truth about both abortion and about sex. Instead of teaching children to remain pure for that special someone they teach tolerance of sinful living and defy the Bible and those who worship God.
It is important that children know the truth that can only be taught from loving, caring parents who love God, love life, and love liberty, freedom, and happiness. My personal teacher would be a church, but I let you make that decision for yourself.
