FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY CHIEF EXPANDS HIS WORKLOAD

Food for the Hungry President and CEO Ben Homan has been appointed new Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid (ACVFA)
Andrew S. Natsios, Administrator for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), made the announcement according to a news release from Food for the Hungry.
Homan's field experience with Food for the Hungry has taken him to more than 25 countries over the past three years. In addition to serving with ACVFA (www.usaid.gov/about_usaid/acvfa)since May of 2004, Homan is also currently serving as President of AERDO, the Association for Evangelical Relief and Development Organizations (www.aerdo.org).
It was with great pleasure, the news release from Food for the Hungry reported, that Administrator Natsios said he appointed Homan to the position of Chairman of the ACVFA.
"I appreciate your willingness to serve in this capacity and have every confidence that you will execute these new responsibilities to the benefit of the ACVFA and U.S. Agency for International Development."
In addition to his responsibilities at Food for the Hungry, Homan will lead meetings which focus on topics selected from a wide range of issues and challenges that affect the relationship between the official foreign assistance program and the private voluntary community.
Homan will chair the ACVFA's next public meeting, which is scheduled to take place on Oct. 19 in Washington, D.C.
Founded in 1971, Food for the Hungry provides emergency relief and implements development programs in over 45 countries to help the world's most disadvantaged people.
