Cindy Sheehan Why?
By Doug Hagin (08/17/05)
What is the truth behind media cover girl Cindy Sheehan? Is she simply a mother, driven by grief over the tragic loss of her son, Casey, in Iraq? Is she a grieving mom being used by far-left groups who will stoop to any low to discredit President Bush?
Perhaps she is an anti-war zealot, simply using herb own son’s death to push her agenda? Whatever the case with Cindy Sheehan she has become the very center of attention in the raging debate in America over the war in Iraq.
Cindy Sheehan insists she is camping outside President Bush’s Crawford, Texas ranch until he grants her a meeting, face to face, to answer her questions of his decision to go into Iraq.
The mainstream media has, of course, jumped all over this story. It has everything they like doesn’t it? A grieving mother, distraught over the loss of her son, Casey, in Iraq. A distraught mother who is both anti war, and anti Bush. Naturally, our left leaning media will give her all kinds of coverage.
There are some rather interesting facts about Cindy Sheehan that need to be discussed though. Some facts the media seems to be overlooking for some reason. Couldn’t be it does not fit their agenda now could it? Of course not!
First and foremost of the underreported facts about Cindy Sheehan is that she HAS already met with the president. In June 2004, the grieving mom received an audience with President Bush. In fact, a trip to World Net Daily’s website can reveal photos of President Bush kissing the cheek of Mrs. Sheehan.
The photos, which show the president and the Sheehan family, together, have conveniently been removed from the Sheehan family website. The World Net Daily site, however, has the links to the photos AND to the very kind words about the president Cindy Sheehan uttered a year ago.
In fact, consider for a moment the very ugly words being spoken by Cindy Sheehan about President Bush today and compare them to these words. I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis. I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith."
Why the difference in one year? Certainly, Mrs. Sheehan was a grieving mother last June was she not,has she gone from calling the president a man of faith, to calling him a “lying bastard” and a “maniac”?
In fact, Cindy Sheehan has accused President Bush of killing her son in a pre-meditated fashion. She has, for all intents and purposes turned from a grieving mother, wrecked emotionally from the loss of her son, into a radical anti-war zealot.
In fact, she has turned her rhetoric into pro-terror anti-American hogwash, which we might expect from the maniacs at moveon.org or Air America. Consider the words from Cindy Sheehan now. “”Quit saying that U.S. troops died for a noble cause in Iraq, unless you say, 'well, except for Casey Sheehan.' Don't you dare spill any more blood in Casey's name. You do not have permission to use my son's name.
"And the other thing I want him to tell me is 'just what was the noble cause Casey died for?' Was it freedom and democracy? Bullsh--! He died for oil. He died to make your friends richer. He died to expand American imperialism in the Middle East. We're not freer here, thanks to your Patriot Act. Iraq is not free. You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism," she said.
"There, I used the 'I' word – imperialism. And now I'm going to use another 'I' word – impeachment – because we cannot have these people pardoned. They need to be tried on war crimes and go to jail."
Wow! Quite a change of tune isn’t it? From a grieving mom supporting the cause her son died for to a radical, peace at any price America is always too blame Leftist! From a mother, who despite the greatest loss any parent can suffer, that of a child, can still realize he died willingly for his country and in its defense to a person who spits on our troops sacrifices. Why?
Her son chose to fight for the nation. He chose to defend her and he chose to put his life on the line for America. So how could this woman now turn on her own son? Moreover, certainly this is exactly what she has done.
Despite the Liberal lie that you can support our troops and not their mission, you cannot. You cannot look into the eyes of our servicemen and say good job, at the same time, you say they are fighting the wrong war, for a lie.
Cindy Sheehan was blessed with a son who laid his life down on the altar of freedom. For those who would scoff at the notion that losing a son to war is never worth the cost consider how precious freedom really is. Somehow, Cindy Sheehan has forgotten how precious her son’s sacrifice was. I pray that she realizes how very special and irreplaceable heroes like her son are.
Cindy Sheehan is using the freedom her son died to protect to bash the gallant heroes who have bought that freedom with their blood. How sadly odd and pathetic that in her attempt to honor her son she is defiling his valor.
