The best friend relationship between Hillary and Katrina

Unless you live without a television you've surely seen Hillary on the talk shows, on news clips, and in newspaper reports ranting about how 'she would never have hired someone like that' when referring to Mike Brown of FEMA. She's taken a national tragedy and turned it into a political stepping stone to claim her own superiority.
Her statements say she would handle this type of emergency better, she'd have better people in place and agencies like FEMA would be better prepared. Based on those facts, since Hillary continues to insert herself as co-president during the Clinton Administration, shouldn't we take a look at any similar situations that occurred? Surely she's right, and a little research should show it.
On Sept. 5, 1999 tropical storm Dennis was leaving it's signature on Carolina. Less than two weeks later Hurricane Floyd decided it was his turn. The result was wide spread destruction. Not only did people have to content with the hurricane, they were still cleaning up from Dennis. 36 people died as a direct result of this storm. 35 of them in Carolina alone. In preparation for this storm approximately 2 million people were evacuated. The largest evac in the history of the country at that time. Who oversaw the evacuation? it was the state and other local agencies. It wasn't the presidential administration that managed it. It was competent state and city leaders taking care of their own.
There's very little difference between FEMAs involvement level in Floyd and Katrina. It was virtually non existent. Should we sit Governor Blanco down and play some tapes to show how they should manage such catastrophes? Obviously this wasn't something the Governor or mayor of New Orleans had any understanding of.
After the initial punch of Floyd, there were tens of thousands of people stranded due to floods in the wake of the storm. FEMA did very little and many people were asking "Where is FEMA". Starting to sound familiar?
James Lee Witt was Bill Clinton's appointed director of FEMA at the time. over three weeks after the storm, Rev. Jesse Jackson had an on air interview with Witt. When asked why, 3 weeks after the storm, there were still people waiting, and had not been responded to, he had no answer. His agency had been overwhelmed and response was slow. Jesse Jackson Stated:
"It seemed there was preparation for Hurricane Floyd, but then came Flood Floyd. Bridges are overwhelmed, levees are overwhelmed, whole town's under water. [it's] an awesome scene of tragedy. So there's a great misery index in North Carolina."
Witt was asked a full month after the storm and resulting flood what was being done for the thousands of families that were left homeless. His reply was that they were just beginning to address the problem.
In 1993 Bill Clinton appointed Buddy Young as a regional director of FEMA. It might be noted that Hillary's claims allege that Bush brought his 'cronies' in with him, referring to Mike Brown. Buddy Young was a 26 year veteran of the Arkansas State Police. The same state Bill was Governor. Before being 'brought' into FEMA he served as Bill Clinton's Director of Security. All this and Hillary still has the audacity to claim Bush brought his 'cronies' in? What about his qualifications? Mr. Young's education consists of a certificate of public administration from the University of Arkansas. College degree? No. What about experience in disaster preparedness? None. In fact, it could be argued that he was less qualified than Mike Brown.
The issues were quickly brushed under the table which is also typical Clinton fashion. "If you can't avoid the truth, avoid the issue itself" Seems to be their motto. The event was so understated that Governor Blanco of Louisiana appointed Witt as the head of her disaster preparedness team. Irony?
The Clintons were the epitome of 'bringing in cronies' and it's astonishing that Hillary would try turning that on President Bush. It's like the coyote complaining that someone was trying to catch the road runner. It almost looks like Hillary and whoever feeds her these directions to go attack Bush with are completely oblivious of their own failures, and their own bad records.
The problem is not that Mike Brown was under qualified or that the response was disastrous or even that this miserable result was avoided by local and state governments making mass evacuations. The problem is that the best Hillary can seem to come up with is a complaint that could be read word for word back to her and her beloved FEMA in the Clinton years.
