How TV may change 2008 for Hillary

Geena Davis is starring in a new television series this year called "Commander in Chief" puts a woman in the white house. Could this have a political backing? Would it be far fetched to consider some 'friends' of Hillary were behind the idea? It's all speculation of course, and has no merit as a real question. But it does raise interest.
Television has raised our entire generation of people. The baby boomers are retiring and the gen-x kids have come of age. Together these two groups represent a much larger audience of TV than it's entire history. What do TV series do to our perception of real life? Quite a bit. If you're old enough to remember "Miami Vice" you'll remember that 'vice' became a popular word, and glamorized police. There is a lot of power behind these shows. If "Commander in Chief" does well and isn't canned, which most new shows are, this could be a sign of change and we need to realize this. If the public becomes comfortable with that aspect (a woman as President) in everyday life it's going to change some people's opinions of Hillary Clinton. That's a very dangerous problem. If this were to spark interest in women in the white house as a whole that's a great idea. Condi would be a great president. It's not the gender that I fear, it's having someone who's proven over and over she can't keep her mouth shut, speaks out of turn, creates animosity at the drop of a hat. Whether our president is a woman or a man is irrelevant. Whether it's Hillary Clinton or anyone running against her is extremely relevant.
There is one very positive thing to note here. In the series Geena didn't win an election as president. Instead she inherits the job as a result of the death of the president.
Hopefully this won't glamorize Hillary. It wouldn't be very hard to take a character and create a star from someone. Criminals have long been idolized on TV.
