Hillary and China agree

Why is Hillary pushing the effort to regulate the Internet? Can she succeed? There's not going to be any serious regulation in your lifetime, there are far too many hurdles and uncontrollable positions.
China can do this. Then again, they have a slightly different government than the United States does. It seems Hillary fits right in with the new media restrictions China put in place (announced Sunday, Oct 9, 05)
Hillary said:
"We are all going to have to rethink how we deal with this, because there are all these competing values ... Without any kind of editing function or gatekeeping function, what does it mean to have the right to defend your reputation?"
"I don't have any clue about what we're going to do legally, regulatorily, technologically -- I don't have a clue. But I do think we always have to keep competing interests in balance. I'm a big pro-balance person. That's why I love the founders -- checks and balances; accountable power. Anytime an individual or an institution or an invention leaps so far out ahead of that balance and throws a system, whatever it might be -- political, economic, technological --out of balance, you've got a problem, because then it can lead to the oppression people's rights, it can lead to the manipulation of information, it can lead to all kinds of bad outcomes which we have seen historically. So we're going to have to deal with that. And I hope a lot of smart people are going to --"
REPORTER: Sounds like you favor regulation.
MRS. CLINTON: Bill, I don't know what -- that's why I said I don't know what I'm in favor of. And I don't know enough to know what to be in favor of, because I think it's one of those new issues we've got to address. We've got to see whether our existing laws protect people's right of privacy, protect them against defamation. And if they can, how do you do that when you can press a button and you can't take it back. So I think we have to tread carefully.
This is a clear attempt to strip the rights we have that made the country the success it is today. It's ludicrous to even consider that this would pass. How would you feel having a woman that failed every single project she was given in the White House having the control over you and me to only speak about what she approves of? How could that work? She can't intimidate us and has no control over what we say, and she can't stand it. Like a little girl getting her pigtails pulled.
Looking at the facts and statistics it makes it clear what the real motivation is here. Regulation is put in place when some one or group claim something is being abused. So Hillary's stance is she thinks the Internet and the blogs are having too much influence. Normally this stance wouldn't make any sense because politicians already know that the public opinion is the key to their winning or the cause of their loss in many cases. Not her. Intimidation, threats, blackmail and other criminal activity is what she thinks the right avenue is. She's hoping to push this new idea to existence for the simple fact that she can't do anything about sites like ours. Sure they could waste immense amounts of time trying different things and pushing/intimidating the more meek people, but she has no power over those of us who stand strong. As controlling as Hillary Clinton is, she can't stand the fact that we can speak our minds without having to consider her approval.
We simply cannot allow this kind of big brother activity come to light. You'd think it'd be an eye opener just by the fact that communist governments agree with it.
Where does that leave us?
