Chris Redfern, the Democratic Party Chairman of Ohio, apparently thinks that Americans are so stingy and selfish that the only way charity work gets done is if government taxes the people to make it happen. In a recent radio interview(1), Redfern expressed the assumption that "unfortunately most Americans would not" help out the poor. Even worse, Redfern honestly believes that freebies and charity work is just as much the proper role of government as funding the "military, law enforcement, and fire protection," proving he hasn't a clue what the proper role should be of the government America's founders created.

Just when I thought Barack Obama might be tempering a bit of his arrogance it was announced that his secular adherents are building a replica of a Greek or Roman temple-to-the-gods, in order to resurrect and reintroduce him as the worldly messiah to we-the-voting-plebeians. The edifice will sport tall Doric columns and is being built - aptly enough - inside of Denver’s Mile High Stadium. Note: This individual is now telling the world - in no uncertain terms - that he not only rises above the common man but, he rises above humankind - itself.

Reuters thinks that tax breaks and loopholes "costs" government its tax receipts. This is a perfect example of class hatred ginned up by the media to further class warfare between Americans. The absolute truth is that if people use the tax code to limit their tax burden they are not 'costing' the government anything, but are using 'legal' means to avoid a higher tax burden. Further, our money is NOT the government's property in the first place so a lower tax take is in no way "costing" the government anything. Yet, Reuters still uses this class warfare rhetoric to report its story revealing its attack-the-rich agenda.

After Barack Obama’s and John McCain’s appearance a week ago at Saddleback Church, for instance, the former’s ardent supporters were as effusive in their praise as ever. His stammering and copious “uhs” weren’t signs of a befuddled and muddled mind, but of “thoughtfulness” and “nuanced” thinking.

Once again showing that the Democrats’ ‘large umbrella’ appears to include terrorists and terrorist-linked groups, the president of The Islamic Society of North America - Ingrid Mattson - spoke Sunday at the Democrat National Convention in Denver. This is the same Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) that has admitted to ties with terrorist Hamas, has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation’s terrorist-funding case and also has admitted ties to the militant terrorist group Muslim Brotherhood. I have written in the past that leftist Democrats consider terrorism to be ‘just another ideology’. This latest Democrat Party action pretty much proves my point. Question: Is this what the Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama means when he says he will “change America?”

A new Sacred Heart University national poll found 64.9% of Americans say the purported national media "love affair" with US Senator Barack Obama is very (30.5%) or somewhat real (34.4%). Another 26.5% suggested the love affair was somewhat unreal (8.5%) or not at all real (18.0%). Others, 8.6%, were unsure.

Barack Obama is the most talked about, most media worshipped political celebrity of all time. He has received praise from Keith Olberman, German crowds , and a host of media outlets like ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN. He has been called many names both good and bad. Names like "the messiah" has often been associated with Obama by conservatives because he is worshipped by some on the left as if he were God and apparently performed miracles during speeches - remember those who fainted and were raised by a bottle of Obama's water. Names like the anti-Christ has also been given to him by some conservatives because of his obvious ability to speak well and be able to draw crowds with an almost uncanny charisma.

Is Biden Obama's Dan Quayle? - Of all the bad choices Obama could have made, for a Vice-Presidential running mate, as we expected, he made the worst choice. Joe Biden is a Northeastern Liberal. So now the Democrat ticket has a Chicago liberal and a Northeastern liberal. I suppose that is what passes for "balance" on a democrat ticket… do you suppose? The support Obama had in the Southland, and much of the West, is certainly now in question. As a Southerner, I can tell you it did not help Obama's chances down here and may very well hurt him, badly.

One wonders how the old Georgian lady seen in news photos standing wounded among the ruins of her apartment building, or the Georgian Mother running down the street, infant in her arms, trying to escape Russian tanks might feel about the humor with which Brooks brings to bear upon their plight? But, there it is for all to see in Brooks' "The Cold War, reheated"(1) wherein Brooks puts the funny back in war. It's been too serious for too long for Brooks, apparently. We need the sunny side of ethnic cleansing, brutal invasion, and crushing occupation, don't we?
