Full-day kindergarten offers no long-term learning boost
EdukShun piece by GoldwaterInstitute:
Le Templar (3/23/10)
A story last week in the Arizona Republic implied that the loss of state funding for full-day kindergarten will permanently hamper the education of schoolchildren. But this simply is not the case.
Defeat for another House seat
Republicrats piece by Offsite
(3/23/10)
Business as usual is the way to blow the 2010 opportunity - Since President Obama was sworn in, the Republican Party has won surprise statewide victories in New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts. But in a big year for the party, Republicans lost all five special House races, including two in ruby-red districts because House special-election candidates are not chosen by rank-and-file Republicans in a primary but rather by a handful of party insiders in a back room.
Gino DiSimone: Independent Candidate for Governor of Nevada
Elections piece by Sher Zieve
(3/23/10)
In my ongoing series of interviews with Conservative and Libertarian candidates for elected State and Federal office, I recently talked with Gino DiSimone—Gubernatorial Independent Candidate for Nevada. True pro-American patriot candidates deserve as much of our support as we can muster. Below is my interview with candidate DiSimone.

Entertainment piece by Aaron Goldstein
(3/23/10)
My heart skipped a beat when I learned Alex Chilton had died suddenly of an apparent heart attack. He would have turned 60 in December.

The Euro Is Headed for Extinction
Economics piece by Offsite
(3/22/10)
The European debt crisis sounds the beginning of the death knell for the euro, says investment icon Jim Rogers.
‘Trials for bin Laden? Why?‘
Terrorism piece by Warner Todd Huston
(3/22/10)
There has never been a trial of a fallen national leader that would stand up to the scrutiny of good criminal law. They have always been politically motivated, full of passion, and short on legal niceties or any observation of technical precision. Because of this, should the United States capture Usamma bin Laden, she should quickly and immediately execute him. Period. End of discussion.
The American “TC” Saga - Part 1 – INTRODUCTION
Socialism piece by Guest:
SARTRE (3/22/10)
In an era of government worship, the supreme social heretic, that threatens the regime, cannot be allowed the utterance of seditious sentiments. How dare any man write such subversion?

Healthcare Reconciliation DOA in Senate
ObamaCare piece by Offsite
(3/22/10)
Former GOP Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania said Sunday that the House reconciliation bill designed to fix shortcomings in the Senate’s healthcare reform legislation cannot legally be considered by the Senate, because it would impact Social Security revenues and therefore is not eligible for the reconciliation procedure.

A Dime’s Worth Of Difference Is Not Enough
Republicrats piece by J.J. Jackson
(3/21/10)
Conservatives are in an abusive relationship with a lying, cheating and stealing spouse. And just so there is no mistaking who I am referring to, I am talking about the GOP. A lot of conservatives are fed up and, if you ask me, rightfully so with the party that they have called home. Republicans have for decades talked a good talk but have never really walked the walk relying on the fact that conservatives have nowhere else to go. They certainly are not going to become Democrats and other parties like the Libertarian and Constitution Parties have failed to woo conservatives to their ranks in any significant number for a variety of reasons.

The Causes and Consequences of Liberal Superiority Complex
Progressivism piece by Thomas E. Brewton
(3/20/10)
Liberal-progressive-socialists, from Henri de Saint-Simon and Auguste Comte in the 1800s and Karl Marx in the mid-1800s, to present-day liberal-progressive members of the Democrat/Socialist Party, have believed as an article of secular religious faith that their superior intellects alone are capable of intuiting the inevitable course of history. Those who disagree with their reading are written off as cranks or imbeciles, unworthy of serious consideration.

Unemployment Tied to Lack of Immigration Enforcement
Employment/Jobs piece by Jim Kouri
(3/18/10)
Although President Obama says creating jobs is his top priority, his failure to enforce immigration laws at worksites has led to job losses for American workers.(1) That is the message of a new television ad campaign by Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) and allied organizations concerned about unemployment.
NPR: ‘Patriots’ Are Dangerous to Our Government
Progressivism piece by Warner Todd Huston
(3/18/10)
Public supported National Public Radio (NPR) posted a report on March 17 during its “All Things Considered” radio show that warns its listeners that “patriot groups” are dangerous and are apparently increasingly prone to attacking government officials and facilities. Oddly the two examples it uses to prove its case have no ties whatsoever to any “patriot groups.“
And That’s All He Has to Say about That: Tom Hanks and Twisted History
Bird-Brain Flu piece by Selwyn Duke
(3/18/10)
Stupid is as Hollywood does . . . and does and does and does. And the latest example is Forrest Hanks, who has just managed to graduate - in the Tinseltown U. way of thinking - from moron to imbecile.
What the Fed’s Mission Ought To Be
Economics piece by Thomas E. Brewton
(3/18/10)
Congress should revise its directives to the Fed and abandon liberal-progressives’ secular religious faith that ivory-tower intellectuals are capable of managing the entire economy.

High fines and misdemeanors needed to strengthen healthcare reforms
Progressivism piece by John David Powell
(3/17/10)
A series of events continuing to unfold in a rural Texas county underscore the fact that the national healthcare reform debate has little to do with health care and even less to do with reform.

Cross the Bridge by Pastor David McGee
Culture Wars piece by Guest:
Nathan Tabor (3/16/10)
Too many Christians have separated their Spiritual beliefs from their Political beliefs. For instance, we can find Pro-Life Christians and Pro-Choice Christians. What do you have to say about Christians who dismisses do not stand on the Truth of God’s Word in Politics.
Doublespeak: The Language of Deception, Part 5
DoubleSpeak piece by Guest:
Marsha West (3/16/10)
In the Church, theological liberals are making every effort to deconstruct historic, orthodox Christianity. Liberals dilute the gospel to make it acceptable to one and all. So instead of getting “the real thing,“ it’s “have it your way” Christianity.

Global Warming Created Farming
Climate Change piece by Guest:
Dennis T. Avery (3/15/10)
Churchville, VA - A new study by Dr. Shahal Abbo of Israel says the invention of farming wasn’t due to climate change because farming depends on a relatively stable climate. Dr. Abbo isn’t looking at the picture broadly enough.

The Heretics: A Legacy of Independence
ClimateGate piece by Offsite
(3/14/10)
It’s time to wrap up The Heretics series. We haven’t come close to covering all of the scientists and researchers who question the tenets of global warming alarmism, but the small sampling of prominent skeptics featured on these pages should be enough to make it obvious that significant, sincere and scientifically valid arguments exist that refute the Gorethodoxy of so-called “climate change.“
Asteroid Coming to a Location Too Close to You
Disaster piece by Kevin Roeten
(3/14/10)
The writer had been under the perception an asteroid collision with the earth was an incredibly remote occurrence. That it was used as a ‘scare tactic’. But after thorough examination of the subject, one should be very concerned about a possible collision.
PM convenes ministers amidst crisis with US
Foreign Policy piece by Offsite

IRS visits Sacramento carwash in pursuit of 4 cents
Big Brother piece by Offsite
(3/14/10)
It was every businessperson’s nightmare. - Arriving at Harv’s Metro Car Wash in midtown Wednesday afternoon were two dark-suited IRS agents demanding payment of delinquent taxes. “They were deadly serious, very aggressive, very condescending,“ says Harv’s owner, Aaron Zeff.
We Want a “Fair Tax” NOW!
Taxes piece by Alan Caruba
(3/14/10)
Both my Father and older brother were Certified Public Accountants. Around the dinner table, the Internal Revenue Services was spoken of as the adversary. “Tax time” which used to mean a March 15 deadline was preceded by a period of long working hours. Over the years the tax laws became so arcane and dense they defy comprehension.
Five Unthinkable Options (Part 5 of 5)
Economics piece by J.J. Jackson
(3/14/10)
Hi. How have you been? I hope that you have been sleeping well. I sincerely mean that too and I ask because I have been getting emails from people telling me how the stark realities of our federal budget that I have been pointing out over the course of the past month is causing them to loose sleep as they worry about our nation’s future. No joke. A lot of people are waking up to reality and it is bothering them very deeply.
‘Who Loses from Minimum Wage Increases?‘
Economics piece by Kevin Price
(3/14/10)
We have all heard the saying that “The Road to Hell is paved with good intentions.“ This saying could not be more true than when it comes to minimum wage. Liberals determine whether a policy is “good” entirely on what it should do, rather than what it actually does. Liberal policy makers decide they want to raise the incomes of individuals (salaries), when they should seek to increase the spending power of individuals (which would happen from increased productivity and the lower costs that follows).

State plan fines feds $2,000 over gun rules
States Rights piece by Offsite
(3/13/10)
2 years in jail also possible for agent enforcing U.S. regulations on firearm - Wyoming has joined a growing list of states with self-declared exemptions from federal gun regulation of weapons made, bought and used inside state borders – but lawmakers in the Cowboy State have taken the issue one step further, adopting significant penalties for federal agents attempting to enforce Washington’s rules.
Unmasking the Global Warming Belief System
GreeenIsm piece by Offsite

If you care about twenty-first century society, you must read Steve Goreham’s new book, Climatism. In my 55-year career as a scientist I have written more than 1,000 book reviews for various journals. No book has pleased me more than this one.

Coffee Party Astroturf
Progressivism piece by Warner Todd Huston
(3/12/10)
What is it that the left and the Old Media said about the Tea Party movement? Didn’t they say it was not really filled with regular folks and didn’t they say it was not ‘really’ a grass roots level effort because some nefarious “top-down” Republican groups were secretly behind the whole thing? That’s what Paul Krugman said in The New York Times(1). So did(2) Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi—after someone taught her was “astroturf” even was, that is. In fact, the whole left-wing Old Media establishment attacked the tea party movement as some fake, manufactured thing and claimed that it wasn’t peopled by regular folks like you and me. All you need do is put “astroturf” and “tea party” in a search engine and you’ll get thousands of hits revealing the left’s unhinged response to the tea parties.

When State of the Unions Become Pep Rallies
Government piece by Offsite
(3/11/10)
The increasingly puerile spectacle of presidential State of the Union addresses is indicative of the state of the union, and is unnecessary: The Constitution requires only that the president “shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union.“
