“We The People”
By JB Williams (03/31/04)
For what seems like a lifetime already, I’ve been waiting, watching, listening, hoping to hear Senator John Kerry say one thing that makes sense, just one thing that I can believe in, one statement that isn’t contradicted by one of his other statements, or his 20 year voting record. Finally, after all this time, he delivered!
He said one thing, one brilliant statement that makes sense, something I can believe in, grab hold of and carry to the ballot box come November. He says that, “we the people” need to take our country back! I couldn’t agree more.
“We the people” who still believe what founding father, Patrick Henry said, “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians, not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.
I mean “We the people” who still believe what “The Father of our Constitution”, and fourth President, James Madison said, “We have staked the whole of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God”.
I’m talking about “We the people”, who hold these historical truths as self evident, need to “take this country back” from those who aim to remove from public discourse, any reference to that God which has so blessed our land.
“We the people” who work hard to pay the bills in this country, need to “take this country back” from those with their hand out, who strive to make us a socialist society of weak people, dependent on our government for our very existence.
“We the people” who understand that “abortion” is the unnecessary taking of an innocent “life”, need to “take this country back” from those who think that “abortion” is simply a justifiable means to rectify a string of other bad choices.
“We the people” who do not want our children to grow up believing “sex” with anyone or anything, anytime, and anywhere, is healthy, need to “take this country back” from people who desire a “unisex society” where all perversions will be accepted.
I mean “We the people” who still believe what Ben Franklin said, “This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the Rights which God has given them, cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins”.
“We the people” who wouldn’t trade a single freedom for all the gold in Fort Knox, need to “take this country back” from all those who would not trade their “socialized welfare state” for any opportunity to become more.
“We the people” who know the difference between right and wrong, need to “take this country back” from people who don’t believe in the existence of right and wrong.
“We the people” who believe in America’s sovereign Right to defend herself, need to “take this country back” from spineless people who believe in a “One World” negotiated solution to every problem, as dictated by the UN.
“We the people” who wish we could have taken “pre-emptive” action to stop 9/11, need to “take this country back” from those who don’t understand the concept of “pre-emptive” action, even after 9/11.
“We the people” who have spent years at home on Election Day, waiting for the perfect candidate, need to wake up to the fact that “perfect” people don’t run for office, go to the polls in November and “take this country back” from those who are destroying America by never missing an opportunity to vote themselves money from the treasury.
And “We the people” who understand that fighting for “freedom” abroad, is the best way to secure our freedoms at home, need to “take this country back” from those who are unwilling to fight for “freedom”, even here at home.
Even though when John Kerry says it, he means “we the socialist DNC”, (Party on the brink of extinction), the concept itself still resonates for me. In short, “We the people”, need to take this country back from people like Senator John Kerry!
