The Real Story

Vast, a private aerospace company, is developing Haven-1, a planned commercial space station that is intended to be the first privately built and operated orbital module. The station is slated to launch no earlier than May 2026 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. It will host missions of up to four crew for around 10-30 days, enabling scientific research, in-space manufacturing, and private payload opportunities. The move could reshape how humanity lives and works in low Earth orbit, representing a shift from purely government- or agency-run stations to privatized orbital infrastructure.
